Classic Element: Air

The poet and art critic Juan Eduardo Cirlot’s Dictionary of Symbols views air as the primary Element by virtue of its connection with the creative breath. I have always been fascinated by wind … it is invisible and elusive, it is soft yet strong, it brings gifts of rain and life but can also be violent and destructive. It is from nowhere and is everywhere; feel it on your face, in your hair, inhale deeply – perhaps the ‘answers my friend[s] are blowing in the wind.’
